2 ways with fish cakes

Fancy some fish cakes but don’t have the time to make them from scratch? Woolies’ fish cakes fit the bill perfectly.

New additions include pickled hake fish cakes made with mashed potato, traditional pickled fish sauce and slivered onions, and mackerel, hake and chickpea fish cakes made with chickpeas, mashed potato, a hint of paprika and chilli, both coated in a crisp ciabatta crumb. Simply pop into the oven or air-fryer and they’ll be ready in 20 minutes or less. Serve with a salad or use to make burgers the whole family will love. It really couldn’t be any easier.

Serving suggestion

Cook the pickled hake fish cakes. Mix 1 peeled and chopped mango, 40 g coconut chunks, grated, 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced and pickled, a few sprigs mint and coriander, 1 thinly sliced red chilli, and the juice of 1 lime to make a salsa. Serve withcoriander, mint and lime juice.

Cook the mackerel-and-chickpea fish cakes. Toast Woolworths Ultimate burger buns and spread with sriracha mayo. Top with a fish cake, cucumber ribbons, sliced radish and avocado
