4 easy platter ideas to get the party started

If you’re of the opinion that fancy dinner parties are overrated, we suggest you ditch the plates and the pretence and serve your guests something more relaxed and laid-back. We’ve selected four of our favourite fuss-free platters to help you live your best hosting life.

VEGETABLE PLATTER WITH HUMMUS

This simple platter features roast pumpkin and beetroot. Assemble your platter with tomatoes on the vine, carrots and halved radishes around a bowl of hummus. This platter will easily serve six.

SPANISH TAPAS PLATTER

If you’re after a bit of smoky flavour, this platter is for you! Throw together halved tricolore peppers stuffed with basil, garlic and olives and juicy tomatoes on the vine and roast until everything is starting to catch. Serve with sliced chorizo sarta, Manchego cheese and crusty bread.

HALLOUMI AND SWEET MELON PLATTER

This easy and refreshing starter stars layers of thinly sliced sweet melon and crunchy, panfried halloumi. Garnish with ribbons of spring onion and quartered strawberries.

Do platters like the Italians! It couldn't be simpler to assemble: a bunch of sweet grapes with a loaf of crusty ciabatta, a cup of creamed honey, shavings of Parmesan and coppa. Pour yourself a glass of vino and the starter will serve itself.
