By Jess Spiro, 19 November 2020

What would we do without a pack of humble sausages stashed in the freezer? While they’ve been known to save many a last-minute midweek meal, the standard bangers-and-mash combo can get a little tiresome. Here are five great value recipes that use sausages in ways you might not have thought of yet.

Pork banger and naan pizza

Switch out the naan for any base you like (an actual pizza base or a wrap would work well) or make your own, and use whatever veggies you’ve got in place of the fennel. Seasoned yoghurt would also make for an excellent labneh substitution.

Chicken meatball broth with rissoni

Make your own quick meatballs by using your favourite chicken sausage, and swap out the rissoni for any small pasta you’ve got to hand. The real winner here is the broth, made mostly from chicken stock and Parmesan rind.
