Dining in the dark in honour of Earth Hour

In anticipation of Earth Hour 2016, which will be celebrated on 19 March between 8:30 and 9:30 pm, we’ll be firing up our grills and taking a stand against climate change with electricity-free recipes for a delicious dinner in the dark. Are you with us?

WWF’s global campaign, Earth Hour, is celebrated every year to encourage a collective effort to take a stand against climate change.

During Earth Hour, people the world over build synergies through the collective action of switching off non-essential lights in celebration of life and our planet. It’s more than just saving energy for an hour – it symbolises the first step in incorporation environment-friendly activities into our everyday lives in an effort towards a cleaner environment and leading a more sustainable lifestyle.

One such effort is The Unplugged Cookbook: Welcome to the Future of Cooking, which features 100 simple and delicious recipes that can be prepared even when the power is out. It’s filled with low- to no-energy recipes that will not only make your life easier, but are also easy on the planet. Plus, it glows in the dark, which means you can read it even when the lights are out!

We have two copies of The Unplugged Cookbook worth R295 each up for grabs. Click here to enter.

Want to become part of this global movement? How about a romantic dinner in the dark? This easy three-course menu is just the thing.
