Celeriac

Celeriac is a gnarly root vegetable popular in soups and stews in winter. Celeriac and celery were bred from the same wild plant; the stems eventually became celery and the roots, celeriac. It has a mild and nutty taste, somewhere between celery and parsley.

Find it during the winter season at the larger Woolworths food stores or food markets.

Use it in:

Celeriac and potato soup with grilled cheese croutons

Slowcooked silverside sandwiches with creamy celeriac remoulade

Lamb steaks with celeriac gratin
