What if you could enjoy your favourite comfort classics without spending hours in the kitchen? You can, thanks to Woolworths! The Easy Meals range has expanded to include ready-prepped stews and slow-roasts such as ox tripe, leg of lamb, venison shank potjie, ostrich tenderloin and Asian-style beef short rib. The packaging includes easy-to-follow instructions so you can dig in in no time, even on weekdays. Serve with amadombolo, creamy pap, ting or rice, or switch things up with pumpkin fritters and gnocchi.

Ox tripe

Remove from the packaging and place in a saucepan or microwaveable dish. Heat for 30 minutes. Serve with Woolworths’ creamy spinach, amadombolo, mild chakalaka and sliced green chillies.

Leg of lamb

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Remove the lamb from the packaging and place in a roasting pan (set aside the sachet of sauce). Roast for 20 minutes. Pour off the pan juices and reserve for the gravy. Increase the oven’s temperature to 220°C and return the lamb to the oven. Roast for a further 20–25 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and golden. Combine the pan juices with the sauce from the sachet and heat over a low heat. Serve with Woolworths’ pumpkin fritters and steamed Tenderstem broccoli.
