Taco shells are a unique way to parcel your delicious Mexican offerings before jamming them in your face, but we all know how pricey they can be. The good news is that with a little effort and know-how, you can prepare your own taco shells.

Preheat your oven to 180°C. To make the tacos, place soft flour or corn tortillas over the wire rack in your oven. If you’re making the tortillas from scratch, follow this recipe for corn tortillas or this recipe for flour tortillas

Space them over two spaces, draping down (similar to an upside down taco shell).

Carefully place the wire rack back in the oven and toast the tortillas until they turn golden in colour. Gently remove them from the wire rack and allow them to cool slightly to firm up.

These crispy pockets are perfect when loaded with chilli, spicy shredded chicken and guacamole, and are the perfect dish for Mexican night.

You still haven’t provided the recipe to make “soft flour or corn tortillas”!! I agree with Firdows, this recipe is misleading!!

I think the title is misleading as you expect to find an actual recipe to make tacos from scratch. Soft/corn tortillas are just as expensive as hard shell tacos…
