Ostrich steak skewers with satay sauce

1. Cut the ostrich steaks into chunks and coat generously with the onion-and-chilli paste. Season well.
2. Thread the meat and plums onto skewers. If using bamboo skewers, soak in water before to prevent them from burning.
3. Heat a griddle pan until searing hot, then cook the skewers for 8–10 minutes for medium rare.
4. Blend the ingredients for the satay sauce until well combined, but not too smooth.
5. Arrange the vegetables in a bowl or platter, season and dress with the lime juice.
6. Serve the grilled skewers with hot coconut rice and the crunchy salad.
