Raise the steaks with Woolies dry-aged beef

By TASTE, 26 November 2018

Let’s be honest, a Christmas braai is the way to celebrate in the middle of a South African summer.

ADVERTISING PROMOTION

Serve expertly grilled, free-range, dry-aged beef steaks from Woolworths and no one is going to complain.

These prime cuts are aged for a minimum of 21 days to ensure supreme succulence and a rich, buttery flavour. When they reach the ultimate level of tenderness, the meat is hand-cut into rump, prime rib, bone-in sirloin and rib-eye cuts.

All they need is a little seasoning and a few minutes on the fire – plus roast potatoes and greens on the side, obviously.
Some things are sacred.

Serving suggestion

Season the steak, then baste in sage butter and fry or grill to taste. Serve with crispy oven-roasted hasselback potatoes, steamed Tenderstem broccoli and asparagus tips.

Melt 100 g butter in a pan, add ¼ cup frozen cranberries and a touch of honey, and stir until fragrant and festive. Serve with the steak.
