For a bit of Mexico without the side-effects, Jeanne Calitz prescribes this fruity cooler.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fruit of choice
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 t lime juice
  • 1–2 t sugar
  • 1 cup water (sparkling or still)
  • soft herbs (like mint or lemon verbena), to garnish

Cooking Instructions

1. For the perfect thirst quencher, place fruit (combos such as watermelon + strawberry; kiwi + apple; mango + pineapple) along with water, lime juice and sugar in a blender. Blend until smooth, strain and chill.

2. To serve, add another cup of cold water (sparkling, maybe?) and garnish with soft summer herbs like mint or lemon verbena.
