- 2 cups cabbage - fresh, green/purple, chopped roughly
- 1/2 - 1 cup bacon, optional
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 3 eggs, x-large
- 1/2 cup milk
- salt and pepper
- herbs/seasonings to taste
Preheat the oven to 180 oC. Steam the cabbage for 5 minutes. Fry the bacon (or steam it). Mix the steamed cabbage, fried/steamed bacon and cheese together. Season.
Beat the eggs and milk together in small bowl with a fork/whisk and mix with the rest. Pour into an oven dish (or glass pie dish) and bake for 25 – 30 minutes – the center of dish must be set.
This dish is perfect as a side dish to a braai or any other meat/chicken/fish dish – perfect on its own as a main meal.
