Ingredients

Method
  • 2 cups desert wine
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 10 cardamom pods
  • 4 organic pears, peeled
  • 100 g organic dark chocolate
  • 2 T organic instant coffee

In a deep saucepan, combine the wine, sugar, cardamom and pears. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the pears start to soften.
Melt the chocolate in a separate saucepan. Add the coffee and a little liquid from the pears, then stir through until thick and of a pouring consistency.
Serve the pears in the wine sauce with the chocolate on the side or poured over.
