Bored of boiled eggs? According to TikTok, the solution is deep-frying them! It can be a little tricky to peel a soft-boiled egg, but if you manage to keep your egg in tact and fry it, the result is a beautiful crisp exterior, with a jammy centre.
- 6 free-range eggs, soft-boiled
- oil, for deep-frying
1. Remove the shells from the eggs while heating the oil in a saucepan. Pat gently with kitchen paper to remove any excess moisture, then gently place in the hot oil using a large spoon or a slotted spoon. Fry the eggs in batches of 3 at a time.
2. Move the eggs around in the oil to prevent them from sticking to the pan. Once the outside is light golden in colour, remove from the oil and drain on kitchen paper.
3. These are a delicious snack on their own but they’re also delicious served over spicy noodles or fried rice.
