- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 t white pepper
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 smashed cardamom pods
- 1 split vanilla pod and seeds
- 2 cloves
- 1 star anise
- Brown sugar, to taste
- Toasted marshmallows, for serving
Heat 4 cups of milk in a saucepan, then add 1/2 t white pepper, 2 cinnamon sticks, 5 smashed cardamom pods, 1 split vanilla pod and seeds, 2 cloves, 1 star anise and brown sugar to taste.
Simmer over a low heat for 10 minutes to infuse but do not allow the mixture to boil. Strain and divide the milk between 4 glasses.
Top with toasted marshmallows and serve immediately.
