Lemon Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 150 g butter
- 150 g sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 150 g flour
- 1 lemon lemon zest from
Cooking Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a loaf tin.
Allow the butter to soften at room temperature. Using a stand or electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar well.
Add in the eggs one at a time and beat very well.
Gradually fold in the flour.
Pour the batter into the loaf tin and bake for 50-55 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the tin for 5-10 minutes, then carefully remove and allow to cool completely on a cooling rack.
Hi Molatsi. No it doesn’t – all the air comes from beating the butter and sugar very well!
Does this need any form of yeast component, baking-powder or self raising flour?
