- 200 g sugar
- 3 T butter
- 4 pears, sliced into thin wedges
- 2 star anise
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 cup cream
Place the sugar in a large pan over a medium heat. Once the sugar has melted and started to brown, add the butter and stir through. Add the pears, star anise and bay leaves and cook for 10 minutes.
Once the pears have softened slightly, add the cream, stir through and cook for a further minute. Spoon the pears into serving dishes and serve the toffee sauce on the side.
