Vienna, cheese and herb scones
Ingredients
- 1 cup selfraising flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 heaping tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup viennas, grated
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 teaspoons garlic, crushed
- 2 teaspoons mustard, prepared
- herbs to taste (salt, pepper, Oregano, Chilli)
- 12 white miniature cocktail onions
- extra cheddar cheese, grated
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 230 oC. Beat the milk, mayonnaise and mustard together with the crushed garlic. In another bowl add the selfraising flour, herbs, viennas and cheese. Stir to coat the viennas and cheese. Add the wet mixture to dry mixture and mix. It will be a thickish consistency. Spoon 1 tablespoon mixture into six muffin cups coated with nonstick cooking spray/wrappers. Insert 2 cocktail onions in centre. Spoon rest of mixture on top. Sprinkle with cheese and oregano. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. Serve warm.
