By TASTE, 22 September 2015

Green asparagus is in season now and ready to be enjoyed in a variety of delicious dishes – your imagination is the limit

Woolworths’ locally grown green asparagus is picked early in the morning to maximise freshness, guaranteeing you perfectly crunchy spears that are as delicious raw in salads as they are steamed, blanched, fried or grilled.

Serve asparagus the classic way with a lemony Hollandaise, or stir-fried with your favourite veggies and a dash of soya sauce. They’re also fantastic roasted with olive oil, or served with your favourite dip.

The Woolies selection includes asparagus tips (100 g); asparagus spears (170 g); bulk asparagus spears (350 g); mini asparagus spears (100 g); bulk asparagus tips (350 g, available between December and February only); baby asparagus stems (100 g); pick ‘n mix asparagus (80 g); and the asparagus and Tenderstem broccoli duo pack (150 g).
