Burger night starting to feel a bit same old same old? Are you always reaching for the same patty? We think you should liven things up (go wild, so to speak) with these tasty venison patties from Woolworths.

Available in two options – venison and ostrich – they’ll go down a treat at your next burger night. But what to serve with them, you ask? Well, venison is a lean game meat that is rich in flavour. These patties go very well with fruit, red wine, robust sauces and hard herbs. In fact, you might try one of the serving suggestions below:

Venison burger with pineapple and cheese

Fry the venison patties according to the package instructions, but drizzle with Woolies BBQ sauce for added flavour. Top each patty with a sliced of smoked cheddar and allow to melt slightly. Serve the patties on Woolies’ ultimate burger buns with: sliced tomato, baby gem lettuce, grilled pineapple and mayonnaise. Enjoy!

Ostrich burger with avo and beetroot hummus

Fry the ostrich patties according to the package instructions, but add some Woolies onion marmalade to the pan for a touch of earthy sweetness. Serve the patties on Woolies’ ultimate burger buns with: watercress, cucumber ribbons, a lick of basil pesto, sliced ripe avo and beetroot hummus. Dig in!

While we’re talking venison, Woolies also some delicious venison sausages which are bound to lend a wild punch to your next batch of hot dogs. We can just picture a juicy venison or ostrich sausage in a hot dog bun, with lots of pickles, mustard, grated cheese and perhaps some crispy onion bits on top? Sounds like a plan …
