Woolies stocks a wide range of flavourful Italian cheeses. Here are seven that’ll keep you coming back for more formaggio

BOCCONCINI, which means “little bites” in Italian, have the same delicious, creamy flavour and texture of traditional mozzarella, just in bite-sized balls.

Try Woolworths' award winning Bocconcini.

BUFFALO MOZZARELLA is made using full-cream buffalo milk, which lends a nuttier flavour to the cheese.

FIOR DI LATTE/FRESH MOZZARELLA is made with Ayrshire milk. It’s a creamy full-cream soft cheese that’s great torn into a salad or
onto a pizza for a perfect melt.

GORGONZOLA is an Italian blue cheese with a slightly salty, sharp flavour. Its soft texture makes it perfect for creamy sauces.

PARMIGIANO REGGIANO is produced in Northern Italy and matured for a minimum of 24 months. Its sharp, nutty flavour makes it ideal for grating over salads and pastas or for using in pestos. It can even be used to add flavour to soups and stews.

PECORINO ROMANO is produced in Sardinia using sheep’s milk. It’s perfect for melting into creamy sauces or with other strongly flavoured ingredients, such as basil and roast garlic.

SMOKED PROVOLONE is a medium-fat cheese that’s lightly smoked for a distinctive nutty taste.

Did you know? Woolworths won a total of 65 awards for its dairy products at the 2016 SA National Dairy Championships
