Spiral hot dogs

1. Pierce a skewer through the centre of a Vienna lengthwise. Place the skewered Vienna on a cutting board and gently slice by running the knife down the length of the hot dog as you use the skewer to rotate. Be sure to let the blade of the knife sink into the Vienna until it hits the skewer. Remove the Vienna from the skewer, it should be a coiled shape
2. Heat some oil in a frying pan, and fry the Viennas, turning occasionally, until golden brown – about 5 minutes.
3. In another pan, fry the sliced onions in a bit of oil over low heat until caramelised.
4. Make the battered onion rings according to package instructions.
5. To make the shoelace fries, fry the potato matchsticks in hot oil until golden brown – about 5 minutes.
6. To serve, slice the hot dog rolls in half. The first hot dog gets tomato sauce, mustard and burger relish; the second gets mayonnaise, sliced cucumber and radish, and chilli crunch; the third gets caramelised onions and fresh salad leaves; the fourth gets chakalaka crisps and battered onion rings.
