Carb conscious? Eat baby marrow “pasta”

If you love pasta but want to cut down on the carbs, you’ll be happy to know that making your own carb-conscious pasta is easy as pie (easier, actually). Or, you could just buy the ready-made version from Woolworths

Unless you’ve been living under a rock – or are prone to committing carbicide – by now you’ll know that pasta made from baby marrow is a thing. No, really.BabyMarrowSpaghetti00

You probably have a lot of questions: does it taste like pasta? Does the texture resemble that of pasta? Will it satisfy my craving for pasta?  The short of it: it’s super simple to make yourself, so why not try it? Go and find the biggest baby marrows you can get your hands on and follow this recipe by TASTE food editor Abigail Donnelly (which includes a carb-clever “carbonara”).

Or, if you’re pressed for time, buy the ready-made version from Woolworths for R29.99. Simply pop in the microwave for four minutes and allow to stand for two before serving. Voilà!
