Making your own braai/barbecue sauce to baste ribs, chops or steak is really worthwhile. Here is Abigail’s home-made sauce that works every time.

Method

  1. Mix 3 T sticky brown sugar, 1 finely chopped onion, 2 crushed cloves garlic, 2 T honey, 3 T Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 cup tomato sauce and 2 chopped chillies (optional).

  2. Mix well, allow to stand for a bit, then use to baste meat before grilling or braaiing.
