Keep your spirits cool with these frozen coolers

By Abigail Donnelly, 13 December 2016

Make a beautiful bottle cooler to keep spirits cold and double as table décor. Just reinvent an old colddrink bottle filled with the prettiest fruits and herbs.

Cut off the top of a 2-litre plastic colddrink bottle.

Insert a glass bottle of spirits (such as vodka or tequila) into the plastic bottle, then fill the space between the plastic and glass bottle with berries, herbs, quartered figs, blueberries, raspberries, halved strawberries and baby vegetables, bay leaves and even a few edible flowers.

Fill with water and freeze upright overnight.

Remove the plastic bottle before serving. The ice will keep the drink cold. Serve on a folded napkin on a side plate.

Cook's note: Don't use wine as it will expand and burst.
