Milk tart in martini form? Yes please

By TASTE, 1 January 2020

Forget eating milk tart, we’re all about sipping on it this summer.

Celebrate the beloved dessert of milk tart on National Milk Tart Day on 27 February with a taste of Tant’ Sannie se Melktert, a delicious, proudly South African liqueur made using Tant Sannie’s traditional milk tart recipe. Quite simply, it’s like dessert in a glass and is best enjoyed as a shooter, or neat over ice. It’s also an excellent ingredient in a cool, creamy cocktail for summer – like this dreamy Milktartini.

Serving suggestion: In a cocktail shaker or jar with a screw-top lid, combine 3 parts Tant’ Sannie se Melktert liqueur with 1 part vodka and a generous handful of ice. Shake well until combined and ice cold, then strain into a martini glass. Serve with a dusting of cinnamon sugar and a shower of crushed ice (optional).
