BBQ duck bao buns
You may associate duck with fancy French dining, but it can absolutely be a part of your braai menu. Woolworths has upgraded its smoked paprika marinated duck breast fillets to guarantee extra tenderness and flavour. Grill over hot coals or in the oven and serve with your favourite braai sides. Or be inspired by dim sum and serve with fluffy bao and a selection of fresh, crunchy veg.
Ingredients
Method- 2 Woolworths Marinated duck fillets, sliced
- 2 T oil
- 10 bao buns
- 100 g Woolworths rainbow slaw
- 1 Woolworths Mediterranean cucumber, julienned
- 50 g Woolworths everything bagel sprinkle, for serving
- 20 g fresh coriander, for serving
- 1 lime, cut into half, for serving
Method
Ingredients1. Heat the oil in a pan over high heat and then place the duck skin side down into the pan, cook for 5-7 minutes or until the skin crisps. Turn the heat down to medium and turn the duck over, cook for a further 3 minutes whilst basting the duck with the marinate. Once cooked place onto a cooling rack, allow the duck to rest for 3-5 minutes.
2. Heat the water in a pot over high heat and then place a colander into the pot, steam the bao buns for 5 minutes.
3. To serve, split open the bao buns and spoon in the rainbow slaw and cucumbers. Top the mixture with the sliced duck, everything bagel, coriander, and limes.
Cook's note: slice the duck skin side down, making it easier to slice without removing the skin.
