Ingredients
Method- 1 T lavender syrup
- 2 shots gin
- ice cubes
- Tonic water For the lavender syrup:
- 1 T dried lavender blossoms
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
Method
IngredientsTo make the lavender syrup:
In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients and bring to the boil. Simmer, stirring continuously, until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool before straining into a clean glass jar.
To make the cocktail:
Combine the syrup and gin in a cocktail shaker and shake with plenty of ice. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass, top up with tonic water and stir before drinking.
TASTE’s take:
Thanks to its botanical roots, gin lends itself to flower and herb flavour additions beautifully (you’d be surprised how fabulous a G and T tastes with slices of cucumber or sprigs of coriander). This light and lovely number has a subtly fragranced, seductive after taste.
