Easy
10 minutes
15 minutesThese cheesy, spicy garlic rolls are a guaranteed hit at any braai. The cream cheese filling is flavoured with herbs, chilli and sumac for a savoury kick, while a buttery garlic glaze ensures golden edges. Wrapped in foil and grilled until gooey, they’re easy to prep ahead and even easier to devour. Serve as a snack, side, or instead of garlic bread with your next feast.
Ingredients
Method
- 250 g medium-fat cream cheese
- 80 g Parmigiano Reggiano, finely grated, extra for topping
- 1 t dried chilli flakes
- 1 t dried mixed herbs
- 1 t sumac
- 6 Woolworths Heat & Eat Portuguese rolls
- 150 g Woolworths medium fat butter with garlic and herbs, melted
Method
Ingredients
1. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, Parmesan, chilli flakes, herbs, sumac, salt and pepper.
2. Slice each roll into quarters without cutting all the way through.
3. Generously stuff the cheese mixture between each section of the rolls. Brush the tops with the melted garlic butter and sprinkle with extra Parmesan.
4. Wrap each roll in foil and place over medium coals (or on a braai grid) for 10–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the cheese is melted and the rolls are warmed through.
Cook’s note: You can make these in the oven too. Bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbling.
