Ingredients
Method- 500 g small onions
- 2 T olive oil
- 3 T butter
- 3 T cake flour
- 500 ml milk
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1/2 t ground nutmeg
- toasted almonds, to serve
Method
Ingredients1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.
2. Coat the onions onions in olive oil and place in a baking dish. Roast for 45 minutes.
3. To make the sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the cake flour and whisk. Cook for 1 minute, then slowly add the milk, whisking. Simmer, stirring, until thick.
4. Remove from the heat and add the bay leaf, nutmeg and season.
5. Pour over the onions and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
6. Sprinkle with toasted almonds and serve with chicken or steak.
