“My husband, Junaid, is a wizard in the kitchen. On days when we want something light and tasty, he makes these flavourful wings, which take much less time than you think. They’re great for a weeknight meal.” - Zorah Booley-Samaai

Ingredients

Method
  • 1 t garlic salt
  • 1 t onion powder
  • 1⁄2 t dried thyme
  • 1⁄2 t Portuguese or Cajun spice
  • 6–12 free-range chicken wings
  • For the sauce:

  • 1⁄3 cup tomato sauce
  • 1⁄3 cup Mrs Ball’s chutney
  • 2 t soya sauce
  • 1 T teriyaki sauce
  • 1⁄4 cup honey
  • 2 t brown sugar

1. Place all the spices in a bowl and mix. Add the chicken wings and toss so they’re well-coated. Air-fry the chicken at 180°C for 15–20 minutes, or until crispy.

2. To make the sauce, place all the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes until thickened. Remove from the heat, then toss the chicken wings in the sauce.
