Homely comforts like hot buttered toast, scones, or a stack of flapjacks may be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of jams and preserves. But here’s a new association for you: how about a cocktail? Not only is it perfectly acceptable to add jam to your drink; it’s recommended Try it with this plum sour.

Ingredients

Method
  • 2 t Woolworths plumand-strawberry jam, loosened with water
  • 45 ml Scotch whisky
  • 2 T fresh lemon juice
  • 1 T simple syrup

1. Shake over ice, strain and serve in a coupe or a short glass filled with ice. Go all out and rim the glass with a lick of strawberry jam and dust with dehydrated strawberry powder or strawberry jelly powder (don’t knock it till you’ve tried it!).
