Celebrate the rosé way this Valentine’s
Fragrant rosé wines are a perfect match with fish, cheese and desserts, and are the perfect beverage for Valentine’s Day celebrations. Try these three fresh summer pairings
Pair DIEMERSDAL GRENACHE ROSÉ 2017 with pavlova
This rosé is made from Grenache, a grape known for its lighter colour and flavours of red berries. The subtle salmon colour introduces a bouquet of strawberries and candy floss with rose-petal undertones, and the palate is a mouthful of crushed red berries with a touch of spice.

Pair STEENBERG ROSÉ 2017 with soft white cheeses
The grapes – 60% Shiraz from Robertson and 40% Cinsault from Stellenbosch and the Swartland – are picked early to ensure a clean, fresh style and a low 12.5% alcohol. The wine offers fragrances of raspberry, watermelon, sweet melon and fresh herbs. The palate is creamy yet fresh with notes of wild strawberry, juicy raspberry and spiced stone fruit.

Pair BELLINGHAM STRAWBERRY ROSÉ 2017 with sushi and sashimi
A vibrant, playful wine that treats you to something everybody loves – strawberries – which is why it’s a good match with strawberries and cream. The nose has aromas of crushed red berry, candied red apple, Turkish delight and rose-water, and there are strawberry and raspberry avours on the palate, with a subtle spiciness and a refreshing dry, fruity finish.

Bonus: Ready to sparkle?
The fruity Spumante sweet rosé (above) is a great match with chicken and pork. The range also includes the Spumante Doux, a sweet wine that pairs well with fish, spicy food and desserts, while the Spumante Brut and Organic Brut are crisper and ideal for drinking with fish or chicken – or mix with orange juice to make a breakfast Bucks Fizz.
