Peppermint Crisp trifle with chocolate shards

Nestlé Caramel Treat and Peppermint Crisp chocolate come together to create a delightful Peppermint Crisp trifle with chocolate shards. This decadent dessert offers a twist on the beloved South African Peppermint Crisp tart, combining creamy caramel, crunchy chocolate, and refreshing peppermint for a truly indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Method
  • 2 Woolworths Madeira loaf cakes, cubed
  • 380 g can Nestlé Ideal evaporated milk, chilled and whipped
  • 2 x 380 g cans Nestlé Caramel Treat, whipped
  • 2 x 290 g cans Nestlé dessert and cooking cream, chilled and whipped
  • 3 x 49 g bars Nestlé Peppermint Crisp, chopped
  • 200 g Woolworths white chocolate drops, melted

1. Layer the cake in a trifle bowl.

2. Gently fold the Ideal milk and Caramel Treat together, then spoon over the cake.

3. Spoon over the cream, then scatter over the Peppermint Crisp and chocolate shards.

4. To make the chocolate shards, spread the chocolate onto a large piece of greaseproof paper and lay another sheet of paper on top. Chill to set. To unroll, pull at both ends to break the chocolate into shards. Chill until ready to use.

Cook’s note: caramel chocolate drops or dark chocolate drops can also be used to make the chocolate shard decoration.
