6 game-changing pizzas to make at home
Pizza is the ultimate fast food, whether you order in, customise a base, or make it from scratch. Here, Hannah Lewry hosts the home-made pizza masterclass and shares six ideas for the best slice of your life.
1. Salami, fennel and stracciatella pizza
Stracciatella is buffalo mozzarella that has been shredded and soaked in cream, while burrata is a ball of mozzarella filled with stracciatella and cream. Add them after the pizza has been baked to give it a silky, luxurious mouthfeel and to add freshness.

2. Pizza Bianca
A pizza bianca, or “white pizza”, is simply a pizza without the classic tomato sauce. With a pizza as simple as this, you need to invest in the best possible ingredients for the topping.

3. Four-cheese, egg and herb pizza
The key to a four-cheese pizza is to strike the perfect balance between tasty, sharp cheeses and creamy, oozy, melty cheese for that perfect pull. Mozzarella is the key to the pull, Gruberg adds that umami punch of flavour, while the other cheeses are neutral supporters.

4. Cauliflower pizza
This pizza is best cooked in a normal oven as the temperature of a pizza oven is too high to bake it all the way through without burning it. Line the baking tray with baking paper to ensure it doesn’t stick. Do not blend or steam the cauliflower as it will create excess moisture and the base will be soggy. Grate the cauliflower using a fine grater, or use Woolworths’ cauliflower couscous.

5. Mini ham-and-mushroom calzones
The key to these gorgeous little pizza pies is the very high heat of the pizza oven to cook the base and the top at the same time and all the way through.

6. Pineapple tray bake pizza
Taking the time to make this buffalo sauce is what makes all the difference with this pizza. The salty, hot contrast with the sweet caramelised pineapple is what makes this combo so addictive.
