Ostrich steak skewers with satay sauce

In a deep saucepan, combine the wine, sugar, cardamom and pears. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the pears start to soften.
Melt the chocolate in a separate saucepan. Add the coffee and a little liquid from the pears, then stir through until thick and of a pouring consistency.
Serve the pears in the wine sauce with the chocolate on the side or poured over.
