Our favourite recipes from TASTE's March/April issue

It is packed with 58 new recipes to serve on all your occasions. Not sure which page to turn to first? The TASTE team share their top picks to inspire you.

ABIGAIL DONNELLY – FOOD DIRECTOR

“My top three picks from the Easter issue are Tracy Klass’s orange-and-macadamia cake on page 109, Khanya’s potato doughnuts on page 80 and the Fledgelings Japanese milk buns on page 117.”

KHANYA MZONGWANA – DEPUTY FOOD EDITOR

“Mine has got to be Hannah’s genius use of canned peaches in that Aperol freezo on page 102! And the best cake I have had all year is Tracy Klass’s orange-and-macadamia cake on page 109 – brilliantly recreated by Abi.”

LYNDA INGHAM-BROWN – CHIEF COPY EDITOR

“The apple pudding on page 108 from Abi’s Pesach story looks like a bowl of happiness! I also like Khanya’s potato doughnuts on page 80! I haven’t made them (yet!), but I once had a doughnut made with mashed potato in New York and it was insanely good!”

MICHELLE COBURN – SENIOR CONTENT EDITOR

“I’ve made Gordon Ramsay’s pork tenderloin with corn salsa on page 25 twice and it’s a great midweek meal for two. Okay, it does take longer than his claimed 10 minutes, but I’m notoriously slow in the kitchen, so Gordon gets the benefit of the doubt. That crispy prosciutto to finish off the dish is soooo good!”

LIESL NICHOLSON – GROUP MANAGING EDITOR

“Well, that’s a no-brainer. It’s got to be Abi’s rough puff custard slice on the back page, which will double up as my husband’s birthday cake now that he’s discovered mayo is my secret ingredient in The Big Annual Birthday Cake. Hint: someone hates mayo. Bonus points for watching the video and not having to prop up my TASTE mag against the spice rack!”

ANNZRA DENITA NAIDOO – ONLINE EDITOR

“I loved Phillipa’s fish cake story. It’s filled with inspired, versatile fish cakes that work as both meals or snacks. I’m most keen to to try the prawn cakes on page 128. They’ll be gracing my Easter table.”

KATHARINE POPE – HEAD OF DIGITAL CONTENT

“I’m always on the lookout for gluten-free baking recipes, so the multi-layer dark chocolate cake (which happens to be flourless) on page 108 is on my urgent to-bake list! As for my Easter menu, it’s all going to have to work around Hannah’s buttermilk-marinated lamb on page 98. Any recipe that someone has grown up with has got to be good – and this looks like it just falls off the bone.”
