Take a tour of the TASTE kitchen, where the magic happens

TASTE’s beautiful brand-new kitchen studio – 5 on 19 – situated on buzzing Bree Street in Cape Town is an inspirational space for inventing new recipes.

The brief: functional, spacious, simple and sophisticated. Naturally, we needed a space that offered the right light for photo and video shoots, as well as appliances, fittings and surfaces that are both beautiful to shoot and of top-notch quality for creating the delicous food found on the pages of the mag and website.

The on-site kitchen studio was custom-designed by JenSTAR projects.

Zimbabwe Antiqeu granite from Rudi’s Choice and Caesarstone’s stylish, hard-wearing Sleek Concrete make the perfect backgrounds for the magazine’s stunning images.

Italtile’s flat white matt subway tiles provide a clean, blank canvas.

Smeg’s covetable stand-mixer has all the attachments you need – including this innovative ravioli maker.

The Tivoli New Road Spring kitchen sink mixer from Italtile and Caesarstone’s Frosty Carrina surface are a stylish match.
