June’s issue of TASTE is dedicated to Italian-style cooking. One of our favourite cookbook writers, Bill Granger, shares some of the mouthwatering recipes he cooked for his family while on holiday in Italy, and our own Abigail Donnelly introduces us to some innovative ways to serve Woolies’ authentic Italian cheeses. Hannah Lewry also shares some foolproof Italian recipes that will get you drooling – including the ultimate tiramisu!

With the humble pear now in season, Abigail shows us how to roast, bake and poach up a storm using pears. Cook our cover – Italian-style pork belly roasted with verjuice and pears – or make an easy pear dessert like the twirled puff pastry pears. They’re glorious with a dollop of custard or cream.

And not forgetting the most special woman in your life, celebrity cook Siba Mtongana prepares a pretty tea-time menu especially for Mother’s Day.
