Slow-cooked ox tripe in a rich beef stock makes a deeply comforting meal with plenty of savoury flavour. Serve it with soft dombolo to soak up the juices and a spoonful of chakalaka for a little spice and brightness. With everything ready to heat and serve, this hearty South African favourite comes together in just 15 minutes.

  • 1x 1 kg Woolworths Slow Cooked Ox Tripe
  • 1x 4 -pack Woolworths Amadombolo Steamed Bread
  • 1x 300 g chakalaka

Method

Ingredients

1. Heat the ox tripe in a large pot over medium-high heat. Allow to simmer for 10–15 minutes.

2. Place the dombolo on a microwaveable plate in the centre of the microwave. Cover with a clean damp paper towel and heat for 30–45 seconds.

3. Serve with a side of chakalaka.
