Our Jan/Feb issue is here!

HELLO!

Welcome to the first issue of TASTE for 2016.

We kick off our latest issue with fast, fresh and easy ideas with stone fruit including nectarines, peaches and plums. Think sticky plum chicken with coriander and almonds, and roast stone fruit with honeyed cream.

If, like us, you’re curious to get a glimpse of the food trends that will shape our eating in 2016, “A taste of things to come” is an absolute must-read, thanks to trend forecaster Martin Raymond from The Future Laboratory and TASTE’s fab food editor Abigail Donnelly. Hint: it is now said that one person’s trash can be another person’s culinary treasure. Also, Abi will be cooking with lavender a lot more. Mmm..

And if you love coconut and rose you won’t be able to resist our flavour of the month starring the likes of Badam (almond) rose-and-coconut milk jelly, and coconut cake with rose-water icing and candied rose petals. For the health-conscious baker, we’ve got a special section dedicated to guilt-free baking, filled with better-for-you bakes using alternative ingredients that taste just as good. If you really want to make a fresh start, we’ve got 10 ways to go guilt-free without sacrificing taste.

PLUS: don’t miss our foolproof holiday menu featuring recipes from some of our favourite chefs including Bill Granger, Curtis Stone, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay from the new cookbook MasterChef: The Masters at Home – as well an exclusive extract from Siba Mtongana’s new book, My Table.

Happy new year, and happy cooking!
The TASTE team.
