Join us at The Nederburg TASTE Table on 29 October at Fermier restaurant in Pretoria.
Abigail Donnelly and Nederburg’s assistant white winemaker, Chandré Petersen, will present a day of making delicious food, tasting wines from the Nederburg Heritage Heroes collection, and a feast to remember.
Do you know what to do with papaya pips? What about leftover whey when you make ricotta? The theme of the day is farm to fork, and Abigail will teach you how to limit your wastage when preparing meals.
You’ll be split into groups and make items including flavoured bread, ricotta and sausage. You’ll also enjoy tasting wine from the Heritage Heroes collection, including The Anchorman. This wooded Chenin blanc commemorates Nederburg’s founder, Philippus Wolvaart, who bought the farm in 1791 and planted Chenin blanc, amongst other varieties. He had the vision and courage to tame a wilderness, and grow great wine. His fingerprint is still on every wine Nederburg makes.
The second part of the day will be a show-stopping lunch including the food you’ve made, paired with wines from the award-winning Nederburg’s Heritage Heroes collection.
The Nederburg TASTE Table takes place on 29 October from 9 am to 3 pm at Fermier restaurant in Pretoria. Tickets cost R495 per person.
