9 inspired ways with canned tuna
Perhaps one of the more notorious of pantry staples, canned tuna does not get the attention it deserves. We plan to change that.
1. Everyday egg frittatas
These are great to keep in the fridge for lunch or those in-between time snacks. Not to play favourites or anything, but we're particularly fond of the tuna-and-feta combination here.

2. Tuna paté
Think there's nothing fancy about a can of tuna? A quick blitz with crème fraîche (or sour cream or yoghurt) can turn it into a snazzy little paté. Perfect for a snacky lunch, or pre-dinner crudités.

3. Tuna-and-bean salad
A double whammy of canned goods, this salad is not only substantial and satisfying, but the addition of a warm egg makes it a quick dinner option too, when served alongside a crusty piece of bread.

4. Asian coconut tuna curry
Proof that a fish curry doesn't need to break the bank and that tinned tuna is capable of doing more than just a being tossed into a salad or a sandwich.

Tuna isn't just reserved for quick lunches. Here it forms part of a warming brinjal bake, topped with a generous layer of cheese – perfect for a chilly winter's dinner.

6. Tuna caponata
The addition of tuna to this simple caponata pasta takes the dish to new flavour levels. This could also keep in the fridge for a satisfying work-from-home lunch.Get the recipe for tuna caponata here.
7. Orecchiette salad with tuna and heirloom tomatoes
This pasta salad has been made on repeat by the TASTE team, and with the mix of punchy flavour and textures, it's not surprising at all.

8. Upgraded tuna Niçoise
The light, green juice dressing is what makes this so interesting, but you could also just toss everything together with a generous drizzle of olive oil and lemon juice. A soft-boiled egg would not go amiss here either, in fact, we strongly recommend it.

9. Toasted tuna mayo
Did we need to remind you of the classic tuna-and-mayo combination? Probably not. But this toasted version might just be the best one you'll ever have.
