Get juiced

Hannah Lewry gives us the lowdown on her favourite juices.

These are my three go-to juices for 2017. They’re a great way to nourish your body with fresh and raw produce with very little effort.

Matcha green juice

Juice 150 g chopped pineapple, 1 cup spinach or kale, 1 handful mint and 1 cup broccoli or celery. For a delicious twist, transfer the juice into a blender and blend with half an avo, 1 cup coconut water, 2 t matcha powder (if you don’t have matcha powder, replace the matcha and coconut water with 1 cup cold, strong green tea).

Orange turmeric boosters

Orange fruit and veg are rich in beta-carotene, which can help maintain healthy eye function. Juice 4 carrots and 1 apple, then add the juice of 1 fresh orange, 1 t ground turmeric and 1 T honey (optional).

Ginger-and-beetroot shots

Ginger is said to aid digestion and have anti-inflammatory properties. It also adds a real kick in flavour to any juice. Blend 1 beetroot, 1 x 5 cm piece peeled and chopped fresh ginger, 1 apple or pear and 1 cup berries. Stir in the juice of ½ lemon and enjoy.

Happy juicing!
