- 2 T butter
- 2 onions, thickly sliced
- 2 large brown mushrooms, sliced
- 2 thyme sprigs, picked
- Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 T canola oil
- 4 x 100 g minute steaks
- 8 farmhouse or white bread slices, toasted
- 60 g Cheddar cheese

Cook the onions in the butter over a medium heat until soft and golden brown. Add the mushrooms, thyme and season with salt.
Heat the oil in a frying pan over a high heat and pan-fry the minute steaks for 1 minute on each side.
Stack the onions and mushrooms on a slice of toasted bread, then add the steak and Cheddar cheese and remaining bread. Season to taste.
