- 3 water
- 500 g caster sugar
- 1 t vanilla paste
- 5 peppercorns
- 4 guavas, halved
- Custard, for serving
Mix 3 cups water, 1 cup orange juice, 500 g caster sugar, 1 t vanilla paste and 5 peppercorns.
Simmer in a saucepan, stirring to dissolve the sugar, for 10 minutes. Add 8 guava halves and cook for 5–10 minutes.
Remove the guavas from the syrup and reduce the syrup until thick.
Pour over the guavas and serve with custard
