SPONSORED: Set sail aboard Vista: 10 reasons to book a cruise holiday

By TASTE, 19 June 2023

Oceania Cruises holds the reputation for being the world’s leading culinary-and-destination-focused cruise line. Their hallmark? Small ships, curated experiences, immersive itineraries, and the finest cuisine at sea. With that to consider, it’s no wonder Oceania Cruises is going all out with firsts offered aboard Vista (the line’s first new ship in more than a decade) – foodies and adventurers are in for a treat.

Savouring different dishes and flavours is one of the many highlights of travelling. Not only do you get to immerse yourself in the tastes of the destination, but when travelling aboard the right cruise line, cuisine takes centre stage onboard too. Launched in May 2023 for the Mediterranean summer season, Oceania’s Vista will be the line’s first new ship in more than a decade!

1. The celebrity godmother

No christening is complete without a godparent present. Chef, author, restaurateur and Emmy Award-winning food personality Giada De Laurentiis was chosen to be Vista’s godmother and appeared at a star-studded christening and naming ceremony in Valletta, Malta. On her appointment as the ship's godmother, the president of Oceania Cruises, Frank A. Del Rio, said, “Her casual yet sophisticated style and devout love of quality cuisine are the perfect recipe for Vista. She truly personifies our first Allura Class ship and we could not be more delighted that she has agreed to be godmother of Vista.”

2. Once-in-a-lifetime menu

De Laurentiis will whip up two signature dishes to be served on board Vista. These dishes are new and exclusive to Vista. Guests can settle down to try these two masterpieces in Toscana, the authentic Italian speciality restaurant, and The Grand Dining Room. Be inspired by Giada's Italian-American upbringing with a classic dish that will hold you over until you can dine at Toscana onboard your next Oceania Cruises voyage:

3. Top-shelf selection

Aboard Oceania's Vista you don't have to choose between your favourite beverages, you can have them all! Stop by The Macallan Diamond Bar Cart, a mobile bar cart that will showcase the theatre and ritual of smoking cocktails. The Brugal Rum & Tea at Sea experience will let you sip the history-rich experience of rum and tea, dating back centuries. That's not all! There are ice cream cocktails on offer, too.

4. Breathtaking views

There are ocean views all around! Vista offers all-verandah accommodations and the most spacious standard staterooms at sea.

5. Curated cocktails

Daniella Oancea, corporate beverage manager of Oceania Cruises says, “On Vista, having a drink will be an experience unto itself – from the beauty of watching a skilled bartender smoke an old-fashioned, to the table-side preparation of an espresso martini.” Take part in drink and cocktail experiences and offers such as the Moët & Chandon Champagne Experience, Connoisseur Wine Pairing Lunches, The Casino Mixology Bar and the Dom Pérignon Experience. Toast to a year of good food and travel with your own signature cocktail at home:
