Ingredients

  • For the smoothie base:
  • 6 bananas, peeled and frozen
  • 360 g thick plain yoghurt
  • ½ cup milk
  • Kiwi-and-mint smoothie:
  • 3 kiwi fruit
  • 1 t fresh mint, chopped
  • 3 T milk
  • Granadilla-and-almond smoothie:
  • 25 g almonds, chopped
  • 4 granadillas
  • 3 T milk
  • Berry-and-beetroot smoothie:
  • 1 raw beetroot, peeled
  • 1 T honey
  • 100 g frozen berries
  • 3 T milk

Cooking Instructions

To make the smoothie base, blend all the ingredients together.

To make your preferred smoothie, add its ingredients to a third of the smoothie base and blend.

Cook’s note: Freeze the smoothie base to make your own banana frozen yoghurt.

    Smoothie base tends to go brown if left to stand too long

      Hi Judy,

      That can tend to happen with very fresh ingredients. Try and add a squeeze of lemon juice to preserve the colour!
