The month of love may be over, but our love affair with food continues! We’ve rounded up the most popular recipes that we posted in February. From steak and chocolate cake for date night to speedy and great value recipes for dinners, here’s what the TASTE community were cooking last month.

9. Bobotie
One thing we know to be true is that you love a proudly South African recipe! It's no surprise that bobotie made this list. This version is by much-loved cookbook author and TV cook Fatima Sydow. We asked her to share some of her most famous Cape Malay classics with us in a collection that we'll be posting through February and March – and yes, we're fairly sure there'll be more smash hits.

8. Mild hake curry with flatbreads and raita
In case you forgot, we have the WList great value hub on our site, which uses ingredients from Woolies' WList to create budget lunch and dinner recipes without compromising on taste or quality. This hake curry is one of the dinner recipes that comes in at under R50 per serving! Pair it with home-made flatbread or, if you're pressed for time, make fluffy long-grain rice instead.

7. Butter chicken noodles
Whenever we post deputy food editor Khanya Mzongwana's butter chicken noodles, it's a hit. We suggested this dish for a solo Valentine's dinner, but we're sure that people made it regardless of their romantic status. It combines two classic dishes into one incredibly comforting meal. What's not to love?

6. Oven-toasted ham and cheese sandwiches
For one of our Friday Food Fights on Instagram, we asked the TASTE community to tell us how they REALLY feel about toasties. We learnt that 53% of you prefer white bread, 76% believe lettuce on toasties is an abomination, and 91% feel that toasted cheese is the GOAT. No wonder so many of you flocked to this recipe by Phillippa Cheifitz. Bulk ham and cheese toasties for the win!
P.S. If you haven't tried our Friday Food Fights, you should! They're a lot of fun. They drop every Friday on our Instagram stories, after 4 pm.
