From SA faves like malva pudding and Peppermint Crisp tart to classics like ice cream and s’mores here are 8 of your favourite braai desserts.

The two most popular suggestions from you were ice-cream sandwiches and Peppermint Crisp tart. Fortunately, if you only have space for one dessert, you don’t have to choose between the two. These Peppermint Crisp ice-cream sandwiches may just be the best mash-up since milk tart malva pudding!

2. Cheat’s malva pudding

Speaking of malva pudding, this one was also a very popular choice. The biggest debate was what to serve it with. Since the weather’s heating up, don’t slave away in the kitchen making it from scratch. This cheat’s version uses Woolies’ ready-made malva pudding and focuses on the toppings. Options include cream, honey, Nutella, peanut brittle, popcorn, ice cream and raspberries – all your guests have to do is choose their favourites.

You can never go wrong with brownies! They’re easy to eat while standing around the braai talking and can be pimped up to your liking. This particular recipe is super-easy to make and includes a chocolate topping. Loads of people also suggested serving brownies with ice cream.
